Department introduction
Situated within the College of Fine Arts, the Department of Fashion Design at Keimyung University has a long-established history as a provider of specialized fashion design education to national and international critical acclaim. In both our undergraduate and post-graduate schools we deliver progressive design education that recognizes the needs of a rapidly evolving fashion industry.
The Program
Keimyung University's fashion design major is based on systematic theory and practice-based design education, aimed at fostering skilled professionals for the fashion industry. The curriculum covers the entire process from design planning to fashion production and showcasing. The course enables students gain the necessary vocational and academic skills, as well as the creative freedom to push the boundaries of the discipline.
Global agenda
The department pursues a strong international agenda in the form of regular international student exchange programs, industry collaboration, international internships, international exhibition participation and global scholarly activity. Our international team of academics is devoted to foster cultural discourse in teaching methodology and research.
Career pathways
Upon leaving the university our graduates are equipped with a specialized skillset, opening a wide range of opportunities to enter the fashion industry as: Designer (Womenswear, Menswear, Sportswear), Stylist, Visual Merchandiser, Garment technician, Pattern Cutter, CAD designer, Colorist, Tailor apprentice, Photoshop/ illustrator professional, Trend researcher, Fashion buyer and Retail specialists.
Location
Located in the “Textile City” of Daegu the Department of Fashion Design is based at Keimyung’s historic Daemyung Campus. The idyllic scenery as well as excellent facilities (Spacious fashion making studios and well-equipped lecture rooms) provide students with a holistic learning environment. Our central Daegu campus benefits from local amenities and transport links.
